Let's hope so.....I could cope with no refurbishment if it means we get a second desperately needed train. Assuming that the circuit is still able to run multiple cars
If you're at all interested, keep an eye on Hellendoorn's Facebook page to see the work thats taking place on their old Tornado coaster. We could well see similar happen to Cannonball in the future.
Bubbles all the coasters do need a paint ,perhaps mm and cannonball ( particularly que line ) more so than wipeout overall. Yes the lake is a tangled mess even more so with the sunken unused que line in it.
Enterprise rumours have been kicking around for many seasons and one of the newer ones would fit well and not be so ageing.
Well the whistle has been blown on what has been a theme park season like no other, no merlin pun intended. The majority of parks now closing earlier than planned however today would have been fireworks for woody, so as of now he is in hibernation.
Apparently they do want an Enterprise at the park, but I'm not convinced that another ageing flat ride is the way forward.Whilst Wipeout could do with a repaint, that's low priority for me.Making WFF an actual new experience would be my first wish, and a repaint for Marble Madness. I don't think anything will happen with Cannonball just yet.
Yes we need filler rides and I agree filler attractions, the park is so empty in areas it looks like camelot. Great work has been done with rootin, eggspress etc yet i just wish they would fill in the gaps.
As we close tomorrow what i hope we see over winter is the painting of mm, cannonball and wipeout, The removal of fireball for another decent flat and a enterprise would fill that gap even if its the new generation of enterprises. Plus the arrival of a couple more flats mid range too such as a top scan. Imagine how many more would venture in...
What do i think we will get for 2021 ? Probably nothing yet with the ongoing pandemic its difficult for businesses to plan.
Nothing wrong with the Target Trail but it; so paint by numbers, so many other parks have the exactly same thing/theme. plus as good as it looks there's not much to it. All they needed to do with tweak Hobs Pit by taking out the actors and any of the really graphic stuff and turn it into a ghost train, keeping most of the effects. At least it was unique and a one off. It's not like Target Trail does anything special other than offer a score board that nobody even looks at. They could do another dark ride inside the castle, or under it where the current maze is.
Oh yeah the turn table, they had a good little set up with that and the other trains in the mini station, makes you wonder why they god rid of all that, It's quite sad then you think about how much character the park once had and now it's pretty bland by comparison, They need to personalise it again, instead of just doing and having what all the other parks do and have got *cough* Target Trail *cough* that was such a mistake.
Yeah it's lost a few carriages and i miss that mini turntable we had. Still at least the bridge that use to go over it behind the sweet shop does live on next to the castle
At lot of those paints are suppose to be translucent, they're not meant to be a solid block of colour, normally the sun cooks the wood causing it to go bare , If it's being washed away when it's probably a water borne product, and one that wasn't designed for sawn timer, But i don't know what they've used and haven't seen it in person.
When i was there, they used a lot of sadolin superdec with is a water based, low opacity wood stain, and the used it on all the fence work.. which it's not designed for. It's possible and most likely then they quickly did a a single coat and didn't get a chance to finish it. Oh Well, it just has be curious is all.Cannonball getting a a bit of make over is quite possible now, probs more coloured wooding station and a few other cosmetic bits.. i doubt a second train is on the cards. Mini Train looks fab, didn't it use to be longer? i always remember when they had several of them parked up at the station.. shit i'm old. lol
I know Loopings are no t the best but they would leave Cannonball in a better shape if they were not doing anything with it. I honestly think something is coming for it next year
I never heard any music on MM, i did in a few other areas including the entrance yet as it was on last chills there wasn't any need for me to mention it. . I did also say that some areas are looking good more than once to which i will again for a 3rd time. Yet that doesn't take away the fact we have some truly awful looking things on full view .....didnt notice any difference with the waveswinger speed... so can't comment. So that is fireball, tidalwave, pirate and now waveswinger not being run properly...
We can only hope for a second train for cannonball, it really would do wonders. I noticed that the current train on cannonball now jolts as it goes up the lift hill, could see hear and feel it. I take it you also felt the massive jolt on pirate ship too when it hits the wheel ?
off topic but t’s a shame to see that 3D creations have sadly closed during the pandemic, they did a lot of work down the farm yard area of the park, they did that great paint job on the Baloon rays. Wonder if that’s had a effect on some of the work on the wff
Well as you will see by the photos later some areas as ive previously described looked abandoned. I agree with your high dive comment too. Something must have been removed as there is a large white patch instead of it being orange. Some of it very basic too across the park. other stuff much more work. A lot.
So ok a couple of these pics I took over the fences of closed off areas yet you can see inside all of these from MM and chairlift so they are visible. Look at the state the paint work for wff is already in and from the side of the wff all the old pathing and bushes , it looks awful.
The former spacenet and clown side site too another huge bit of land just empty..... ok so the sweet shop and play area closed due to covid I get that sort off yet even alton towers had most of their shops open.
One pic also shows the empty land where you use to walk down to the old sealion site entrance and even the former mini golf area turned play area is all empty now as we know, a huge bit of area..... a decent coaster could get on there !
Sounds like Loopings need to get working on the park this winter.😂 I remember going on cannonball this year and just seeing the rust take over the queue.
I have taken way too many pictures...currently waiting for waveswinger, to the right of the que the trough for alladins still there and full of water and reed, well no actually plastic trough yet the shape is there.
I will upload pics in a separate post. The park was not busy today and this did not help the atmosphere in some areas, really felt souless.
Sadly the mazes not as good as last year yet both exactly the same yet with a few things missing from both. Hob's was the stronger one by far yet again like hell express exceptionally dark if not ridiculously too dark in places.
I wonder if atmosfear designed them both and loopings paid for them hence why they are as they were almost.... didn't see many using them.
The newer food unit opposite waveswinger entrance has had the circular cooking thing replaced with a freezer, looks odd as that circular thing looked good.
A few Halloween props around the park that looked good actually, sadly due to high winds many had fallen over and the pumpkins attached to them smashed.
Lovely to see the sealions, 4 now onsite. One is a pup of a older one. I noticed CCTV cameras in the aquatheatre they looked new, plus new ones on log flume.
Ride photo booth which houses log flume one and mm is not well signposted at all doesn't even tell you on the rides about your photo. The wipeout ones were very dark. £6 per ride photo or key ring.
Fireball had closed for maintenance sign outside it. No signs of any work that has been happening.
My pics feature mainly things that show just how much empty space we had where attractions and rides once lived, how untidy some things still look such as the electric box outside waveswinger entrance, all the fenced off areas, closed side stalls, the former marquee at the back of Tony's which now stands as a metal frame with some of it blowing in the wind, the lake, the que line now almost sunken in the lake and undoubtedly the former TTT site which is now a pond complete with reeds inside it !!! All the overgrown weeds/hedges by the small train tunnel that you can see from tidal wave and on the chair lift.
All these first impressions... many parts of the park reminded me of the Camelot theme park abandoned videos on you tube, particularly when waiting for cannonball and mm. They are in dire need of a total paint up. Guys they look awful.
Yes I understand it's time and money yet these are way overdue.
Rooting tooting still looking great as does the aquatheatre and old dodgems and eggspress also the castle looks good too. It was being used as a woody meet and greet just inside the door.
We were only asked to wear masks in the two mazes and rooting tooting. We did not wear them on any ride nor were we asked too and nor did anyone else (well very odd few did wear one regardless)
With HPWW off which still surprises me that's my 2020 season over, a short one yet at least we had some....pics will follow soon.
The boats are in the maintenance yard...im currently on park. The mazes are operated by the park for 2020 themselves not atmosfear. Please correct me if i am wrong. Many photos i have taken and a full report will appear at some point. Just done hell express maze and not a patch on last year at all, exceptionally dark however. Its the same layout and maze as last year yet not a great deal going on , the things that moved out at you through the window for example not there yet the windows were. Plus the paint is already washing away on the water fun factory...the turquoise colour in places is almost back to the bare wood it was before painting in places...
Absolutely martyn yet empty spaces look as bad as the boarded up parts and the ride issues. I know us geeks always go deeper yet knowing what we know about the rides and lack off, satisfaction is hard to get for people like us. That's just my opinion.
Did two days scarefest last week, god if only we had that sort of stuff here! That and a madhouse would please me ! Ha. Sorry off topic
Yeah him, but I cant remember anything world cup related 😆There were lots of bizarre events when he was in charge, Christmas panto, after hours for the play area and Tony's restaurant. I think there was going to be a "Strong Man" event as well but that got cancelled.
Bit of Hammer horror for halloween.... sounds cool.. Sadly sitting in my car for a movie is not combatable, unless i'm allowed to sit on the front or the roof? Fireworks would be a bit odd in your car.. unless you've got a sun roof!
They're always going to say that though. The extra additions to WFF have gone from being added in September to now over the winter months. I'm not really bothered though, it's hardly the weather to get soaked right now 😆
Yeah I’m sure they have probably tried I’m not sure it would have worked, I hope they remove it tbo, try and invest the money that they will make somewhere else on the park that will need it
I think they will do something to it, they have spent the past two years on developing the park and I expect them to carry on tbo, plus it will be next to a freshly looking WFF. I do hope they bring something in though too, I’d imagine fireball will be gone and love to see hyper drive go with it too
i doubt they are doing anything with the ride, Keeping on Rolling is referring to Marbles rolling, The ride is named after the video game. . A new sign should have had a new name.I guess it's possible they'll paint it blue but i suspect blues just look better on a white sign then yellows and orange.
I really hope they have something exciting planned for next year,TWFF wasn’t very exciting and tbo we need new rides desperately, I did hear that looping MAY have been on site last week but I’m not sure how true that was
Also, you an buy tickets online for the last week in October, so we can all assume that the park will be open, but with no mention of the Chills so far, it could just before the normal park. Which is better than nothing. And tbh I do wish they would stop remaining closed for weekends in October
Been down to GYPB today loved the new extreme so much I rode it twice 😃 Also wondering how close does everyone live from PWH as I live an hour away?
They will need some what of a replacement as they can’t go down to 4 thrill rides a couple of years back they had 8 thrill rides (well hyper drive once was marketed as a thrill ride)
Look like Fireball is on its way out, it’s still closed, I heard rumours last year suggesting that it was on its way out but that didn’t happen but it seems like it’s definitely going
Gypb has yet another bran new ride from East anglia it seems. Its at the far end of the park..it comes as the new lighting ride has been withdrawn for now due to a potential 7 minute held upside down issue. So they get two new rides and assuming the new one stays too its literally been wheeled in and used. We still can't even get that...
Yeah I noticed that, feel like they need to update some of the ride photos on there too especially the egg spress It still has that cartoon photo doesn’t really show it off
Let's hope so.....I could cope with no refurbishment if it means we get a second desperately needed train. Assuming that the circuit is still able to run multiple cars
If you're at all interested, keep an eye on Hellendoorn's Facebook page to see the work thats taking place on their old Tornado coaster. We could well see similar happen to Cannonball in the future.

yeah, seriously need a new logo, the previous was was such a dud.
I wonder what happened to the sign for the park entrance!
Two mazes will be announced Thursday and Friday and confirmation no fireworks this year in line with other parks.
Small things for kids announced for the chills, tonys open from midday. Selected days only it seems.
Yeah him, but I cant remember anything world cup related 😆 There were lots of bizarre events when he was in charge, Christmas panto, after hours for the play area and Tony's restaurant. I think there was going to be a "Strong Man" event as well but that got cancelled.

maze news is pending....
not surprised those rides were closed on Saturday, Joyland was closed all day i think. i would have expected the park to just close for the day.
A coaster probably available, don’t know much about it, I know it had a bad accident a couple of years ago
Yeah not the greatest of weather 😂, I hope they do add more to it, it looks really plain
They're always going to say that though. The extra additions to WFF have gone from being added in September to now over the winter months. I'm not really bothered though, it's hardly the weather to get soaked right now 😆

They must be I can’t see the sign would Ben blue I forgot the ride wasn’t it looked almost Westerny
It does not represent the ride atall
Shame

I guess so but I never find you have much time to look at wipeout as the queue has allways been quick for me but I can’t say that about cannonball!
How much would it really cost to get that and Marble madness looking that good
Wow I came across this picture of when Enigma opened in 2005
Fireball, wipeout and Jolly are the only thrill rides currently on site.. (cannonball at a push i suppose)
They will need some what of a replacement as they can’t go down to 4 thrill rides a couple of years back they had 8 thrill rides (well hyper drive once was marketed as a thrill ride)

The website ride status now shows what rides will close in heavy rain and thunderstorms, and it shows wipeout will open late tomorrow Tues 1
The Water Fun Factory Has Now Opened!
Jolly roger has reopened!
