Let's hope so.....I could cope with no refurbishment if it means we get a second desperately needed train. Assuming that the circuit is still able to run multiple cars
If you're at all interested, keep an eye on Hellendoorn's Facebook page to see the work thats taking place on their old Tornado coaster. We could well see similar happen to Cannonball in the future.
Bubbles all the coasters do need a paint ,perhaps mm and cannonball ( particularly que line ) more so than wipeout overall. Yes the lake is a tangled mess even more so with the sunken unused que line in it.
Enterprise rumours have been kicking around for many seasons and one of the newer ones would fit well and not be so ageing.
Well the whistle has been blown on what has been a theme park season like no other, no merlin pun intended. The majority of parks now closing earlier than planned however today would have been fireworks for woody, so as of now he is in hibernation.
I don't think MM needs a repaint just yet, but they do need to finish the log flume, I am kinda expecting Cannonball to under go a new of a make over now its working again, and following suit with egg coaster and Water Factory, and mini dodgems. They seem be doing that than getting new rides. Just a pity they can't keep that lake clean, what a waste.
Apparently they do want an Enterprise at the park, but I'm not convinced that another ageing flat ride is the way forward. Whilst Wipeout could do with a repaint, that's low priority for me. Making WFF an actual new experience would be my first wish, and a repaint for Marble Madness. I don't think anything will happen with Cannonball just yet.
Yes we need filler rides and I agree filler attractions, the park is so empty in areas it looks like camelot. Great work has been done with rootin, eggspress etc yet i just wish they would fill in the gaps.
As we close tomorrow what i hope we see over winter is the painting of mm, cannonball and wipeout, The removal of fireball for another decent flat and a enterprise would fill that gap even if its the new generation of enterprises. Plus the arrival of a couple more flats mid range too such as a top scan. Imagine how many more would venture in...
What do i think we will get for 2021 ? Probably nothing yet with the ongoing pandemic its difficult for businesses to plan.
We all know what the park needs, an Enterprice, a Twister a Waltzer and the Troika Proper family fun rides. ;) Don't care if im stuck in the 80s.. theses were super fun family stuff and perfect for our park. and if you don't agree with me,, you're wrong. :P There's a reason the Park is a bit naff compacted to how it once was.. and that's down to ride selection, lack of fun family attractions, and the lack of rides in the first place. A proper kiddie coaster would be a nice replacement for that pony ride. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Next year if the park is lucky enough to get a ride it'll most likely be bumper cars.
Yeah its an odd name, but so is Marble Madness that's right in front of it. Perhaps they're going to create a wacky play area type theme for that little section of the park? Even Hyper Drive would sort of fit as well. Makes sense to me given the bizarre names. Just need some smaller rides on that empty land beside the flume, perhaps a kiddy coaster? 😉😆
Agree with a lot here that there are some areas of the park that need attention. However, as Martin said there are some really great parts which look fantastic. To me the mini train appeared to be running much quicker than when I went earlier in the year however, that could be my imagination as Martin didn’t notice when he went. The paint job is neat though, will be nice if they repaint again a brighter colour for normal season.
I really wish they hadn’t chosen Water Fun Factory, sounds like a cheap kids board game than a ride.
Nothing wrong with the Target Trail but it; so paint by numbers, so many other parks have the exactly same thing/theme. plus as good as it looks there's not much to it. All they needed to do with tweak Hobs Pit by taking out the actors and any of the really graphic stuff and turn it into a ghost train, keeping most of the effects. At least it was unique and a one off. It's not like Target Trail does anything special other than offer a score board that nobody even looks at. They could do another dark ride inside the castle, or under it where the current maze is.
Completely disagree with that, Rootin Tootin is fantastic and feels like a complete, well done and thought out attraction, full of attention to detail too. But I also agree that they need to look after the "different" attractions too, like both trains and the chairlift.
Oh yeah the turn table, they had a good little set up with that and the other trains in the mini station, makes you wonder why they god rid of all that, It's quite sad then you think about how much character the park once had and now it's pretty bland by comparison, They need to personalise it again, instead of just doing and having what all the other parks do and have got *cough* Target Trail *cough* that was such a mistake.
10am to 4pm now this week...it was 5pm at the weekend just gone....
Yeah it's lost a few carriages and i miss that mini turntable we had. Still at least the bridge that use to go over it behind the sweet shop does live on next to the castle
At lot of those paints are suppose to be translucent, they're not meant to be a solid block of colour, normally the sun cooks the wood causing it to go bare , If it's being washed away when it's probably a water borne product, and one that wasn't designed for sawn timer, But i don't know what they've used and haven't seen it in person.
When i was there, they used a lot of sadolin superdec with is a water based, low opacity wood stain, and the used it on all the fence work.. which it's not designed for. It's possible and most likely then they quickly did a a single coat and didn't get a chance to finish it. Oh Well, it just has be curious is all. Cannonball getting a a bit of make over is quite possible now, probs more coloured wooding station and a few other cosmetic bits.. i doubt a second train is on the cards. Mini Train looks fab, didn't it use to be longer? i always remember when they had several of them parked up at the station.. shit i'm old. lol
I know Loopings are no t the best but they would leave Cannonball in a better shape if they were not doing anything with it. I honestly think something is coming for it next year
I never heard any music on MM, i did in a few other areas including the entrance yet as it was on last chills there wasn't any need for me to mention it. . I did also say that some areas are looking good more than once to which i will again for a 3rd time. Yet that doesn't take away the fact we have some truly awful looking things on full view .....didnt notice any difference with the waveswinger speed... so can't comment. So that is fireball, tidalwave, pirate and now waveswinger not being run properly...
We can only hope for a second train for cannonball, it really would do wonders. I noticed that the current train on cannonball now jolts as it goes up the lift hill, could see hear and feel it. I take it you also felt the massive jolt on pirate ship too when it hits the wheel ?
And going back to what I said a few days ago about having hope for Cannonball with what Fort Fun did to their old Vekoma... Hellendoorn are now going to refurbish one of their old coasters too, including a new theme and a brand new train! I really do feel that we will see similar happen to Cannonball one day. Sooner rather than later I hope!
