I imagine that was just custom made for the ride.
I don't know the answer to that, unfortunately. Are you a member of our Facebook group? There are loads of current/former staff members on there who may know: www.facebook.com/groups/pwhills
does anyone know what the music was called on tale of the coast that played at the station and before entering the tunnel??
So is anyone going this weekend or during the Easter holidays?
There some new eateries.
At best there will be some fresh paint around and that's ya lot
So only 3 days to go until opening!
It was around this time last year that they revealed all the work that's been taken place around the Sea Lion Splash pool, WFF and the new ride logos. Unfortunately they've not revealed much at all this year, despite having some new new eateries, and some potentially themed ones at that.
They never bothered with any more updates on the train refurb either, which is a shame. However all of this does mean that there could be some surprises for when we do visit the park.
I'm guessing they might have stopped with the updates as they're sick of people just complaining about a lack of new rides?
I'm surprised someone from on here hasn't got in touch with Loopings themselves to ask why 😆
@Cameron my feeling is that the issues are not at the park itself but rather with the investor/owners.
The park can only do so much with a limited pot of money.
The owners have invested to varying degrees over the years. I wonder if they have concluded that visitor numbers are fairly consistent regardless of whether they invest to a very low level vs a modest level in a particular year.
Fingers crossed they are saving up for a really marketable, big attraction in future years! Something they can really "sell" to the public.
Yes but there's more to do at TP from the onset so worth the drive. Its not worth anyone driving to the hills. Besides we've had things SBNO for years too..
What's so wrong with the current management, Cameron? Bare in mind they can only work with the funds they're given from the parent company.
I personally think they've done a fantastic job at "working with what they've got".
Bare in Merlin, who claim to be "second only to Disney", have left 3 attractions SBNO at Thorpe Park for years due to the cost of removal.
Not now Cameron. So much wasted opportunity.
I don’t understand the point in looping group owning the park anymore there is no vision for the park no clear plan unlike DM, everything is going up and they decided to up there food offerings like many families will be able to afford the food especially when the price is going to be going up whilst the quality of food is pretty crap let’s be honest. I’m not sure about the management anymore why do we need two sets of bumper cars yes it would be another removal but no one would miss it and they’d save some wages. There’s so much potential in the park I hope someone with some money can see that too and hopefully buy the park
Yeah it looks like it's become the Galley, and if the map is anything to go by, then it looks like it's recieved a nice pirate theme too.
But then the map still shows that god damn water tower 😆
It's a pity they're still using the castle for that. It's hard to keep out with all the food places sometimes they're open and sometimes they're not, or they get randomly re-branded for a year, or a temp one pops up. There seems to be a lot of them. So bear grills has been re named?
Bubbles...I said last year main street square is all SBNO except the carousel, that tea shop was probably last used in 2019. Main street games much longer and the former donut kiosk is also SBNO. Like as we know so much of the site is. I've kinda given up any hope as we look to the future, we've a half broken ride line up left that's clinging on for dear life. Everything else is either closed, fenced round or just empty !
I dont remember seeing anything in the old coffee shop last year. It's a nice location for a coffee shop, but there's such an imbalance of food/drink options around the park. If you stand with your back to the park entrance, facing the waveswinger, all there is on the left is Roosters way down at the bottom, and Parrot ices. Yet on the right there's; smokey Joe's, Amigos and the two pirate food places. They should have maybe swapped one of them for the Parrot ices, so you can get dinner outside wipoeut, and ice creams next to the loaded hotdogs.
It's interesting that Tony's is still featured, as I don't remember seeing that open once last year. Although the same could be said for the Pit Stop cafe too. Staff shortages could have been the issue though.
So the sweet shop/old tea room is empty? I don't t think id trust them to design a new play aria where the go karts were, i've kinda lost faith in them now, nobody at the park seems to be that interested anymore. At this rate their will be more shops than rides.. lol So what's in the Castle ? it just lists it as a kids attraction... if it's just a photo booth still what an absolute waste.
Yeah they could have done that I suppose, log flume would have fitted in as well. But then you'd have a western theme backed up against the pirate theme, at least the colour area in between breaks it up a bit
Western themed attractions popping up right next to a disused area which was previously called "Fort Fun" and was home to a Wild West shootout show many years ago...
Hmmmm!?
(I don't know anything BTW, but it's worth pondering!)
It would be so easy now to turn MM into a mine train western coaster like rattlesnake
