So the park have confirmed that Marble Madness will be having a much needed make over ahead of next season as i predicted, interesting that they just announced it without the usual clues could this be a sign of something much bigger on the way
A much needed refurbishment yet same old comments given... this is nothing new to bring people in. Its work that should always be getting done in closed seasons.
Advertising this as new is simply false , I mean yes we may see an improvement to the harsh braking system yet the ride will still be exactly the same.
I'm pleased it's being done, yet unless your a theme park fan/geek this means nothing to Joe public, who quite simply want more rides and NEW stuff as per the latest comments
NEW attractions and rides are needed as well as some serious tidying up across many areas
We know there is almost definitely no chance of anything new for 2024.
What are we hoping for next season? New flat rides? Maybe a new coaster? Will the go karts make a return now that the park have a company again operating the games and arcades, I'm sure management once said that they never ran the go karts?
Will the plot op wipeout finally get filled?
Will the circus return for a 3rd season with the remaining of high dive show removed?
Both the horses on the carrousel and wave swinger look tired
What will they do with the old hyper drive plot will the static train be removed?
And if nothing new comes in would eaither Marble or Wipeout get some much needed theaming
I think the park has a busy winter with plenty of work to do
Probably most of that won't happen. Its been a very empty year for what should have been a huge year for the park. Next to nothing was done for the 40th which was so wasted.
The continued online tidal wave of comments on any post they put up ( mainly about lack of investment, lack of rides and mess of areas) coupled with this a difficult season weather wise and also for the first time a reduction in operating hours , I doubt 2023 was a great year, perhaps just about breaking even.
Circus I expect will be back for 2024
I've got some photos to share once we get bored with closed season of just how much there really is to do..
The dive show left in its current state ( along with many other areas ) is simply inexcusable and awful for people to see. How anyone at loopings can see that as acceptable is beyond me.
And yes I'm well aware of issues at other parks, notably the smiler at alton towers, yet woody has little to shout about which makes these areas even more heartbreaking to see, coupled with the SBNO units and areas.
We really should not be expecting anything for 2024, happy to be proven wrong.
It's really quite hard to think of what we will happen over winter.
I think it's been another good year for the park. The circus has proven to be successful, plus they had the new Jurassic June event which went down very well.
I guess at worst we will see another ride get spruced up and maybe some more tidying up around the park.
Turned out to be a lackluster year considering it was their 40th. But a few possitives such as the poney ride looks like a proper attraction now and a few other bits and bobs. Always exciting to find out what's in store for the new year, i can't imagain them not adding a new ride as it's been awhile and so many have been removed and not replaced. I wonder if getting Rattlesnake back blew their budget for a while?
When you consider Drayton is getting a new coaster, a new flat and a existing coaster is getting a new train for 2024. .. on top of what they already have had .. i await with optimistim of what i think what we will see here in Suffolk...
Nothing I doubt.
However once we finish the 5 year plan with Drayton or was it 3 ( ? ) this ends next season regardless, so will attention move to Suffolk starting 2025 ?
Well that's a wrap! The 2023 season has came to an end, not the best experience today but the weather has an effect on that and just the general end of season feeling, fireworks were fantastic once again beleve there where more this year then the previous years. Here's to hoping for something new next season fingers crossed!
The bangs were good yet the choice of music bizzare. Too much waiting around until they go off. The place was saturated which isn't their fault yet they could have done more.
Mazes good quality , better than some at scarefest alton !
I will leave the general disgust of some areas ( a lot ) for closed season.
Well the season comes to an end tomorrow, as always I'll be on park for the end of season fireworks display, been a very quiet year but there has been plenty of positives. Hopefully it's a busy winter and plenty for us to talk about never say never let's hope the looping group show that they are still invested in the park long term. On another note I thought we were expecting the parks anniversary celebrations throughout September? What happened to them??
It's awsome. I missed it as since i posted i came down with covid, but might have to have it if if it gets relisted. I think it was used in one of their punch and judy shows. just awsome
A very interesting visit to PWH today which helped give me an insight into how the park is doing these days.
We'll start with the positives. The sun shone all day and the park was completely rammed, it's not often you see large queues forming at the park so in that regard I feel the park is successful at the moment.
It was a pleasant surprise to see the Cannonball sign was back up as well as speakers throughout the queue playing a pleasant sea shanty. However, queues never dipped below 40 minutes today and the ride obviously is in desperate need of a paint job. (You could see plenty of blue showing through parts of the queue).
It was also a pleasant shock to meet Theme Park Worldwide today and we discussed the matter of EggSpress running only one lap per cycle. After speaking to various staff members we came to the conclusion that it was due to the ride ageing badly and to ensure the longevity of the ride this was for the best. Other staff said it was for health and safety so it is hard to know for sure the reason.
I cannot justify enough my disappointment at PWHs maintenance of their newly refurbished rides. The Safari building was full of cobwebs and was not well maintained. The Eggspress looked shoddy with paint peeling and the WFF had faded signs already. It's not good enough to be honest.
Marble madness was only running three carts with a (new?) blue train! Brakes as rough as ever.
The Giddy Up attraction is excellent and as long as it is maintained then will stay as a very good ride for the park. The themeing was spot on.
Overall, I had an excellent day at PWH, all the rides were open and the sun was shining. However, I feel that now PWH have really done up enough attractions to justify the instillation of new ones, the park is in desperate need of something new and exciting.
most likelet because it was a busy day, when they double laps it always stops after hte first lap incease anyone wanted to get off, so it was never non stop, at least it used to.
I was on park today for my second visit of the season, arrived around 9:50 they allowed us through the park entrance but held us all at the front of the park until 10, it felt pretty pointless as it meant there where a lot of people waiting to be allowed to leave that area.
Nice to see that the street games have returned under a new management will be a boost for the park come the end of the season for next years budget. Great to see that the new fence has been completed around the lake and the new signs that Martyn had pointed out.
Both Jolly Roger and Cannaball were out of action until around 2 they both opened at the same time, annoyed to see that it meant that 3 members of staff where just waiting outside the attractions felt like wasted wages. Marble had a lot of down time today and the eggspress was only going around once even though at times there was hardly a que.
Glad to see that Ricky has done a great job since he's been manager must be around 4 years now he's got rid off hyper drive fireball and the tide traveller all rides that needed to go. I really hope he gets the backing now from the looping group for 3 new replacements as the park really needed it today especially whilst JR and CE were closed the ques for all rides where quite busy.
Since when did smoky Joes change its menu? £3 for chips for what where served in like an Mac Donald's style no Cheesy chips so I was not happy lol. £4.75 for an refillable plastic cup when asking for an Dr Pepper I was served this option not really paying attention to the price, for an refill I think it was around £2.75 it seemed like everyone was being almost pushed to buy one considering I was assuming I would be given a bottle.
Nice to see the park busy and another nice day will be back on park next for the fireworks as usual.
Yeah the 40th appears to be a bit underwhelmeing, but the park can only do so much with what it's allowed. A lot of the stuff this year has been temporay (circius, dinosaus, and i think there was something else) But they did some nice make overs, Maybe loopings will have finished playing with there new toys this year they'll do something with the hill for next year.
There's also more of these new banners in the pirate. They look very good, especially with the new landscaping that can be found dotted around the park.
I wonder why the main street games after being SBNO for what must be pushing a decade are back ? It looks so much better to see something in that area yet guess its only for the "peak" season
Only down to school trips, even after this information was released the general public could still buy tickets via the website... ( this now shows as closed on website rather than sold out )
Meanwhile a little further in the Midlands.... ( along with 9pm closing for selected dates) so more investment...haha... we have this...
Probably in just a pop up tent somewhere, maybe even in the castle on the stage area.
Not exactly short of spaces this could go.... whilst as always its not what we need and clearly for peak season at least its a filler attraction I guess yet at a upcharge I can't see that many taking it on...
The park have announced on Social media that they have teamed up with a company for the return of street games, this is what the park has needed to return considering how dead it’s been in the centre of Main Street
You keep dreaming mate. You've only got to see how quiet this forum is these days and other sub forums for PWH to know its almost forgotten about not only by folk yet loopings too....
So the park have confirmed that Marble Madness will be having a much needed make over ahead of next season as i predicted, interesting that they just announced it without the usual clues could this be a sign of something much bigger on the way

As ever the usual comments starting to appear attached to their post
Updated now with details

I honestly don't believe we've ever seen such attention to detail on an attraction at PWH before.....

Nice to see the park busy and another nice day will be back on park next for the fireworks as usual.
This had a mixture of responses, including the McDonald's now being constructed.
I don't read trip advisor so cannot comment on that side of things.
There's also more of these new banners in the pirate. They look very good, especially with the new landscaping that can be found dotted around the park.
ers in the pirate area:
Woody's Cub House is looming fantastic after it's refresh. And how great are these banners?!
Hyper Drive is no more!
It's nice to see that on the 18th and 19th of this month, the park is sold out!
I know it is going to be down to all the school trips, but I still don't recall this happening in recent memory.
Let's just hope on these days that they can provide a decent level of service so everyone leaves having had a good day!
I have just received a marketing email from Pleasurewood Hills, confirming that the Circus will be returning shortly.
The email also described a new VR experience. Not much detail though, so I'm not sure what it will be or where it will be sited.
My money would be on a return of Ronnie and Clarence. Makes sense with it being the 40 year anniversary, and with Woody getting a new look.
The park have announced on Social media that they have teamed up with a company for the return of street games, this is what the park has needed to return considering how dead it’s been in the centre of Main Street
Woodybear has a new look for Halloween this year as read from the new park website
Looks like Cannonball finally has a nice new sign!
It does look a bit on the small side, though.
